In 2016 CommsConsult was commissioned by the Livestock Vaccine Innovation Fund (LVIF) to develop and manage a comprehensive communications and public relations strategy for the fund and its constituent projects.

LVIF is a five-and-a-half year, CA$57 million partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Affairs Canada and Canada’s International Development Research Centre. The fund seeks to improve the health of livestock and the livelihoods of farmers by supporting the development, production, and commercialisation of innovative vaccines against neglected livestock diseases (including poultry) in sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia.

As well as generating a comprehensive and practical communication strategy, the CommsConsult team are responsible for developing branding, producing editorial and digital outreach products and managing and building the fund’s presence on social media.

The CommsConsult team will also: provide technical support to research projects teams to develop and implement their project specific communication strategies; strengthen capacity of LVIF research project teams in communications, public relations, and policy engagement; and provide monitoring and evaluation of the communications and public relations strategy and its implementation.
