In September 2016 CommsConsult Director Megan Lloyd-Laney and Senior Associate Laura ffrench-Constant attended the What Works Global Summit 2016 in London, providing assistance to 3ie’s team and helping to amplify the reach of their conference communications.

The 2016 Summit jointly organised by the Cochrane Collaboration, Sense about Science, 3ie and the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation at Queens University Belfast, convened a diverse range of practitioners, researchers and policy makers looking to share lessons about what does and does not work when using evidence to underpin policy.

Research to Action‘s social media platforms were used to report the pre-summit workshops and conference sessions in real time, building online engagement and facilitating conversations with digital audiences, ‘bringing them into the room’ by capturing key soundbites within colourful graphics. A Twitter countdown to the event and a series of Storifys summarising each day at the conference can be viewed on 3ie’s WWGS conference mini-site. Megan and Laura also assisted 3ie’s launch of a new systematic review ‘Is there a magic bullet for achieving quality education for all?’

By engaging CommsConsult to help us with our conference communication, we were able to improve our impact in reaching more of our important audiences more effectively. Our communication staff also learned new skills that have improved our daily work.”
